Your home inspector will provide you with a report detailing
their professional and objective visual examination of the mechanical and
structural systems of your home. This will be a great resource going forward;
however, nothing compares to asking your home inspector direct questions and
having a conversation about each concern.
Ask the following questions to your home inspector to learn
the most you can about your home.
- What is the age of my air conditioner and furnace?
- What is the condition of my roof?
- Did you see any structural issues?
- Are the bath fans vented to the exterior?
- If so, are they vented correctly?
- Are there any signs of mold?
- Are there any signs of previous or current water damage?
- Tell me about the electrical box. What is the service size
and are there any available breakers?
- Did you see any current or past signs of termites?
Once you have the answers you need and the report in your
hand, you can move forward with any repairs or replacements if deemed
necessary.
